Collection of general information

When you access our website, information of a general nature is collected automatically. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your internet service provider and similar data. This information does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your person. It is technically necessary to deliver the content you request correctly and is generated whenever the internet is used. We evaluate anonymous information of this kind statistically in order to optimise our website and the technology behind it.

Cookies

We do not set any cookies for analytics or advertising purposes when you visit our website. Technically necessary cookies are only set when logging in to the editorial area of the website.

Fonts

The fonts used on this website are loaded from our own server. No connection to third-party servers (e.g. Google) is established.

Vimeo videos

On our home page, we embed our image film via the Vimeo service (Vimeo.com Inc., New York, USA). The video is only loaded once you explicitly activate it with a click. Only then is a connection to Vimeo’s servers established, during which your IP address and technical information about your browser, among other things, are transmitted to Vimeo. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). If you select the option to always show Vimeo content, this choice is stored in a cookie in your browser. For more information, please see Vimeo’s privacy policy: vimeo.com/privacy.

Personal data

Personal data is information that reveals or can reveal the identity of the user. We adhere to the principle of data avoidance and collect as little personal data as possible. Personal data is used exclusively for establishing, defining the content of, performing or processing the contractual relationship (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Beyond that, personal data is only processed if you have given your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Where necessary to fulfil the contract, data is passed on to the shipping company commissioned with delivery. To process payments, the required payment data is passed on to the bank or payment service provider commissioned with the payment. Personal data is not passed on to third parties for any other purpose.

Contact by email

If you contact us by email, the information you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing your enquiry and for any follow-up questions.

SSL encryption

To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS.

Deletion or blocking of data

We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data minimisation. We therefore only store your personal data for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes stated here or as required by the various statutory retention periods. Once the respective purpose no longer applies or these periods have expired, the corresponding data is routinely blocked or deleted in accordance with the statutory provisions.

Legal basis for processing

Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR serves as the legal basis for processing operations for which we obtain consent for a specific purpose. If the processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party – for example for the delivery of goods or the provision of another service – the processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. The same applies to processing operations required to take pre-contractual steps, for example in the case of enquiries about our products or services. If our company is subject to a legal obligation that requires the processing of personal data, such as the fulfilment of tax obligations, the processing is based on Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR. In rare cases, the processing of personal data may be necessary to protect the vital interests of the data subject or another natural person – for example, if a visitor were injured on our premises and their name, age, health insurance details or other vital information had to be passed on to a doctor, hospital or other third party. The processing would then be based on Art. 6(1)(d) GDPR.

Finally, processing operations may be based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. This legal basis covers processing operations not covered by any of the aforementioned legal bases if the processing is necessary to safeguard a legitimate interest of our company or a third party, provided that the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject do not override them. Such processing is permitted in particular because it has been specifically mentioned by the European legislator, which considered that a legitimate interest could be assumed if the data subject is a customer of the controller (Recital 47, sentence 2 GDPR).

Your rights to information, rectification, blocking, erasure and objection

You have the right to obtain information about the personal data we hold about you at any time. You also have the right to rectification, blocking or – apart from data storage required for business transactions – erasure of your personal data. Please contact the person named below.

To ensure that a block can be taken into account at any time, this data must be kept in a block file for control purposes. You may also request the erasure of your data, provided there is no statutory obligation to retain it. If such an obligation exists, we will block your data on request.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by notifying us.

Changes to this privacy policy

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy from time to time so that it always complies with current legal requirements or to reflect changes to our services, e.g. when introducing new services. The new privacy policy will then apply to your next visit.
